One of my favorite shows, LOST, is coming to an end next year with its sixth and final season. To me, LOST is an enormous puzzle, a collection of pieces that form a complex mosaic. The fun of the show is putting the pieces together—it's like building a puzzle without a picture of what it will look like in the end. LOST is also an exploration of big thematic ideas and character archetypes.
It will be sad to see LOST come to an end, but also rewarding to finally have closure after so many years of cliffhangers. I've followed the show since early in its first season, so it will truly be the end of an era. My final judgment on the show will have to wait until the very end, but I hope to post some thoughts as the season unfolds.
